Crisis Cell Established at Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Monitor Situation of National Community

Following instructions from the country's high authorities, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, proceeded on Saturday to establish a crisis cell at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This measure aims to "monitor the situation of our fellow citizens following the dangerous military escalation and developments in the Middle East region," indicates a ministry statement.

"In compliance with instructions from the country's high authorities, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, established a crisis cell at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to monitor the situation of our fellow citizens following the dangerous military escalation and developments in the Middle East region," the statement specifies.

"This cell ensures the monitoring of the situation of members of our community and our fellow citizens present in the concerned countries, within the framework of permanent coordination with our diplomatic and consular missions in the region, which are mobilized to provide all forms of necessary support and assistance," the statement noted.

"Our ministerial department urges our fellow citizens present in the region to exercise the utmost vigilance and caution, and to remain in permanent contact with our diplomatic and consular representations to cope with the current situation," the statement adds.

Furthermore, the ministry "informs our fellow citizens and members of our community in the region that a hotline number has been placed at their disposal: +213.21.50.45.00, inviting them to register on the digital platform 'DZ Travellers,' dedicated to emergency cases and intended for Algerian citizens located outside the national territory."
