The Tourism and Handicrafts sector is participating, starting today, Tuesday, in Berlin (Germany), in the 60th edition of the International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin) 2026. This occasion serves to highlight the diverse tourism potentials that Algeria possesses, according to a statement from the National Tourism Office (ONT).
The same source clarified that within the framework of "implementing the ONT's action plan for the year 2026 and enhancing promotional efforts at the international level, the Tourism and Handicrafts sector is participating in the International Tourism Exchange ITB Berlin 2026, which is being held in its 60th edition from March 3 to 5 in the German capital, Berlin."
The International Tourism Exchange is considered the "leading global platform" for the travel and tourism industry, annually bringing together "the most prominent international players in the sector within an integrated professional and commercial space."
It also constitutes a "business platform (B2B) to explore modern trends in the travel industry, strengthen international partnerships, and keep pace with developments in global tourism markets," as this edition is expected to attract "more than 100,000 professional visitors, with the participation of over 5,800 exhibitors representing more than 190 countries."
The statement added that this event is considered "an opportunity to present a diverse Algerian tourism product combining the desert, beaches, historic cities, and rich cultural heritage—assets that qualify Algeria to be a promising future destination for the German tourist seeking distinction and authentic experiences."
According to the statement, Algeria's participation in this edition will focus on "highlighting the diverse tourism potentials the country abounds with, through a pavilion designed with an architectural vision reflecting Algerian cultural and historical authenticity, focusing on the desert dimension as an attractive and distinctive element, and equipping it with all necessary technical and communication means to organize professional meetings and promotional activities."
Furthermore, on this occasion, "various promotional materials will be displayed, such as brochures, booklets, and introductory films, alongside offering 3D virtual tours of the most prominent Algerian tourist sites, enhancing visitors' experience and enticing them to discover the Algerian destination."
In order to add continuous dynamism to the Algerian pavilion throughout the event, "samples of traditional handicraft products, particularly carpets and traditional jewelry, will also be displayed, allowing visitors to view a part of the richness and authenticity of Algerian cultural heritage."
