The German government condemned on Wednesday the Zionist entity's threats to annex southern Lebanon, which has been subjected to intense Zionist bombardments for several weeks, affirming that this plan is contrary to international law.
"The annexation of Lebanese territories by (the Zionist entity) would, of course, be contrary to international law and would not be accepted by the federal government," stated the spokesperson for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Martin Giese, during a press briefing in Berlin.
He noted, in this regard, that his country has "taken note of these statements with great concern," calling for "a return to the ceasefire and the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701."
In violation of the ceasefire in effect since late November 2024, the Zionist army continues its aggressions against Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that the toll of the Zionist aggression against Lebanon has risen to 1,072 martyrs and 2,966 injured since March 2.
