The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounès Magramane, co-chaired the third session of Algerian-Turkish political consultations in Istanbul on Friday, alongside the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Musa Kulaklikaya, according to a ministry statement.
On this occasion, both parties hailed the "historical ties and the exceptional level achieved by Algerian-Turkish relations in recent years," while welcoming the "significant milestones reached in strengthening the partnership across various fields, particularly in the economic and commercial sectors," the statement added.
These consultations also provided an opportunity to “review the calendar of upcoming bilateral milestones and explore ways to fully leverage them, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and partnership relations. This aligns with the vision and political will of the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan”, the statement added.
During these political consultations, and in accordance with the established traditions of consultation between the two countries, “both parties exchanged views and analyses on several regional and international issues of common interest. In particular, discussions focused on the developments in the Middle East and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the question of Western Sahara and the Sahel region,” the statement concluded.
