The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, emphasized this Saturday that Algeria is moving, at this stage, towards enshrining the right of women to fully integrate into the dynamics of the ongoing transformations aimed at building a modern state and strengthening their role in the national project.

In a message marking the occasion of International Women's Day, the President of the Republic addressed Algerian women, stating: “Algeria is proud of you and is moving, at this stage, towards enshrining the right of women to fully integrate into the dynamics of the ongoing transformations aimed at building a modern state”.

The President of the Republic added: “As you celebrate International Women's Day this March 8th in a New and Victorious Algeria, sharing with women worldwide the commemoration of struggles for female liberation; you are, in this blessed land, the descendants of resistance fighters, martyrs, and mujahidat. Their legacies have soared, and their memory has spread across horizons as a symbol of the spirit of sacrifice so that the nation may live”.

After noting that Algeria is a “true state of citizenship being built through the integration of women into all initiated programs,” the President of the Republic pointed out that “the doors have been opened wide to strengthen the role of women in the National Project, particularly through their appointment to the highest responsibilities, positions, and ranks”.

The President of the Republic noted that “Algerian women today record the highest presence in the government since independence, as well as in elected councils, constitutional institutions, security forces, and all fields of economic activity”. He reaffirmed his utmost keenness to follow up on his directives to the government to “strengthen women's empowerment and achieve the principle of parity enshrined in the Constitution”.

The President of the Republic concluded by expressing his pride and satisfaction with “the creative achievements, innovations, and excellence in thought, culture, art, and sports” accomplished by the daughters of this beloved nation. He also conveyed the “Algerian people's pride in how women in our country preserve our cultural heritage and our authentic, ancestral societal traditions, which are guarded by the educators and nurturers of the rising generations within schools and the heart of the Algerian family”.
