Curtain Falls on the 6th Edition of the Youth Religious Song Festival

The closing ceremony of the 6th edition of the Youth Religious Song Festival was held on Monday evening in Algiers, marked by the announcement of the winners in the various categories of the competition, which brought together diverse Inshad troupes from the wilaya of Algiers.

The ceremony took place at the Palais des Expositions (Exhibition Center) in Pins Maritimes as part of the 2026 Ramadan evening entertainment program. It was attended by a representative of the Minister of Youth, in charge of the Higher Youth Council, Mustapha Hidaoui; the Director of Youth, Sports, and Leisure for the wilaya of Algiers, Mohamed Lamine Saad; the Director of Culture for the wilaya of Algiers, Yamina Bendaoud; as well as executives from youth establishments.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Saad indicated that this festival aims to be a "platform for highlighting young talent in the field of Inshad, allowing them to express Algeria's identity in unison."

It is also a way to "encourage young people to get involved in national initiatives," he added, describing Algerian mounchidine (Inshad singers) as "ambassadors of Algeria everywhere."

The troupes that qualified for this final stage delivered their performances before a jury, chaired by Smail Hadj Kouider, assisted by Réda Brahim and Nadji Raïd.

In the over-16 category, the first prize for best performance went to the troupe from the Aïssa-Messaoudi Cultural Center in Hussein Dey, the second to the "Ranim" troupe from the Kouba Youth Center, and the third prize to the "El Hanadjer Edhahabia" troupe from Zeralda.

In the under-16 category, the "Anadel Hammamet" troupe won the first prize for best performance, while the second prize went to the "El Ihssan" troupe from Rouiba, affiliated with the Algerian Muslim Scouts (SMA), and the third to the "Ranim" association troupe.

This edition was also marked by the awarding of excellence prizes to participating troupes in various categories such as artistic creativity, collective and individual performance, and rising voices, in addition to the prize for the best traditional Algerian heritage outfit and the prize for the best Ramadan outfit.

This 6th edition of the Youth Religious Song Festival (from February 18 until March 16) was organized under the auspices of the Minister of Youth, in charge of the Higher Youth Council, Mustapha Hidaoui, and the Minister, Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdenour Rabehi, on the initiative of the wilaya's Directorate of Youth, Sports, and Leisure, and the Youth Free Time Animation League.
