The 4th edition of the Metal Steel and Mining Expo 2026 will be held from March 30 to April 1 at the Palais des Expositions in Pins Maritimes (Algiers), according to a press release from the organizers.

The organizers expect the participation of 250 exhibitors, including 150 foreign exhibitors representing companies from several countries, such as China, Italy, Turkey, India, Niger, Tunisia, and Libya. This is in addition to the presence of a number of active international professional bodies in this sector, such as the World Steel Association.

In this regard, the fourth edition will see the participation of institutions like the industrial mining group "Sonarem," the Libyan Iron and Steel Company, and the Libyan National Mining Corporation, as well as other foreign companies "looking to implement investment projects in Algeria," as stated in the press release.

The exhibition's program includes a series of seminars and lectures that will address various technical topics, notably the issue of decarbonization in metallurgical industries and ways to develop mining activity in accordance with international standards.

The organizers explained that this event comes as part of the "economic dynamism that Algeria is experiencing," especially following the start of exploitation at the Gara Djebilet iron mine. They emphasized that the event represents a "favorable opportunity to exchange experiences and conclude deals among the participating institutions."

The goal of the exhibition is to contribute to the valorization of national mining capacities, in line with the State's efforts aimed at developing exports outside the hydrocarbon sector, the statement indicates.
