The Algerian Under-17 National Football Team achieved a resounding victory over its Libyan counterpart with a score of (5-1) on Tuesday in Benghazi, as part of the first round of the North African Football Union (UNAF) tournament (March 24 - April 5) in Libya, which serves as a qualifier for the 2026 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
The match's goals were scored by Valmi (29' and 70'), Refsi (31'), Abed (56'), and Megueni (65') for Algeria, while the Libyan team's solitary goal came in the 54th minute.
National coach Amine Ghimouz had summoned a squad of 24 players, comprising 12 players active in the national championship and 12 professional players from various European leagues.
This tournament is conducted in a mini-championship format consisting of five rounds, after which the top three teams will qualify for the finals of the 2026 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
