Technical Amendment to the Constitution: Work Begins as Parliament Convenes in Both Chambers

The proceedings of the joint session of Parliament, dedicated to the debate and adoption of the draft law on the technical amendment to the Constitution, began on Wednesday afternoon at the Palais des Nations in Algiers.

The proceedings are taking place in a plenary session chaired by the President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azouz Nasri, President of the Parliament, in the presence of the President of the National People's Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, as well as members of the Government and representatives of official institutions.

One of the main objectives of this draft law, which comprises 12 amendments, is to "guarantee the consistency of legal texts and address the shortcomings revealed in practice, by eliminating ambiguities and contradictions that may arise during the application of provisions. This will contribute to strengthening the clarity of the constitutional framework and ensuring its precise and harmonious functioning, without altering the fundamental achievements enshrined in the 2020 Constitution."
