The International Foundation for Youth and Children organized a national symposium on Saturday in Algiers regarding the African dimension in Algerian culture, explored through literary texts and intellectual and committed writings.

In his opening speech at the symposium, held at the Moufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture, the President of the Foundation, Ishak Ibn Kayem Kenouna, affirmed "the importance of cultural communication as an essential foundation for building consciousness and strengthening human ties." He emphasized that this symposium "reflects the Foundation's vision, which places culture as a solid basis for communication among young African elites."

Kenouna highlighted the African dimension within Algerian cultural creativity across literary texts, theater, and intellectual and committed writings, asserting that "Algerian identity extends its deep roots into the African continent" and that "art and literature are two bridges that link African peoples."

For his part, the President of the High Council of the Arabic Language (HCLA), Salah Belaid, underlined the significance of the African dimension in Algerian culture, which is expressed "in several fields of intellectual and scientific creativity," highlighting "Algeria's pioneering role in strengthening cultural and historical ties within the African continent."

Discussing the role of young elites in contributing to intellectual and economic development, Mr. Belaid estimated that these elites are "a fundamental pillar for building the continent's future and its influence."

He also addressed the importance of linguistic identity and the promotion of African cultural diversity on a global scale, insisting on "the historical responsibility that falls to the younger generation to continue the path of their predecessors." He stressed "the need to invest in human creativity and to promote African intellectual production across the world within the framework of international cultural events."

The forum featured interventions focused on exploring Algerian identity and its deep connection to the African dimension. Participants discussed topics such as "Colonial Writing and Manifestations of the African Dimension in Algerian Literary Discourse," as well as "The Role of Cultural Elites in Strengthening National Unity and Shared Values Between Algeria and African Countries."

This forum, organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, aims to "highlight the cultural and spiritual influence of Algeria in its broader African environment."
