The Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, received on Monday at the ministry's headquarters in Algiers the President of the Arab World Institute (IMA), Ms. Anne-Claire Legendre. Ms. Legendre is visiting Algeria at the invitation of the Minister to participate in the first edition of the "African-Mediterranean Symposium of Thought," organized under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a Ministry of Culture and Arts communiqué.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed "the themes for debate scheduled within this intellectual event and exchanged views on the role of these encounters in strengthening cultural dialogue between the African and Mediterranean regions." They also explored "prospects for coordination between the Ministry and the Institute in the fields of knowledge exchange and artistic cooperation in service of shared objectives."
The President of the IMA expressed her gratitude for the invitation and highlighted "the importance of the Algerian initiative in creating high-level spaces for intellectual debate," expressing "the Institute's interest in following the conclusions of these meetings and contributing to their implementation."
The activities of the first edition of the "African-Mediterranean Symposium of Thought" will begin Tuesday at the "Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania" in the wilaya of Tipaza, while the main sessions will be held on April 29 and 30 at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers.
