Arab Junior Athletics Championships: Algeria Secures Four Medals Including One Gold on Day Two

The Algerian national athletics team won four medals (one gold, one silver, and two bronze) on the second day of the 21st edition of the Arab Junior Championships, held Monday in Tunis.

The gold medal was claimed by Zehr Eddine Gasmi in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.83 seconds, while the silver medal was earned by Fatma Zohra Guessoum in the 5,000m race walk.

The two bronze medals were secured by Ismail Bouziza in the 400m and Hassna Ben Ouadah in the 800m.

On Sunday, the opening day of the Arab event was highlighted by the victory of Issam Louadj in the long jump with a leap of 7.59 meters. In doing so, he met the minimum qualification standards for the upcoming World Championships in this category.

By the end of the second day of competition, Algeria had a total of five medals: two gold, one silver, and two bronze.

Algeria has fielded a total of 28 athletes in this competition: 19 boys and 9 girls.

The Arab championships feature 15 countries: Tunisia, Algeria, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Morocco, Sudan, Bahrain, Somalia, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates.
