The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received today, Tuesday, at the Ministry's headquarters, the European Union Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Mrs. Dubravka Šuica, who is on an official visit to Algeria, according to a statement from the Ministry.
The statement indicated that this meeting allowed for a “comprehensive assessment of the various dimensions of the partnership between Algeria and the European Union, and explored ways to grant it further momentum, dynamism, and balance, in line with the goals of the Pact for the Mediterranean launched in November 2025, particularly in the fields of investment, trade, energy, green economy, higher education, and the movement of people.”
The two parties also reviewed “the current developmental and security challenges in the Mediterranean basin” and emphasized “the importance of strengthening joint coordination to ensure an effective and sustainable response to them,” according to the Ministry's statement.
