The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion announced in a press release on Sunday the signing of 52 agreements across various sectors of activity since the start of the 8th edition of the Algerian Products and Services Fair in Nouakchott (Mauritania) on May 5.
This new total follows the signing on Saturday of 25 agreements and memorandums of understanding between economic operators from the two countries, in the presence of the Algerian Ambassador to Mauritania, Amine Sid, along with representatives of Algerian exporters' associations and organizations, and the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM).
The signed agreements cover the sectors of industry, mining, electrical cables, processing industries, health services, the mechanical industry, medical devices, services and solutions for startups, higher education, and hydraulics, the press release specified.
These new agreements are in addition to the 27 signed last Thursday, including four (4) in the health services sector.
These results confirm "the success of the fair, which has transformed into a true economic platform for concluding partnerships and opening new prospects for cooperation and investment, thereby strengthening the positioning of Algerian companies in the Mauritanian market and African markets in general," the press release highlighted.
This outcome is "the fruit of the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion in supporting Algerian economic operators, by ensuring spaces for direct communication with African partners and encouraging national companies to expand their export activities and build lasting commercial relations."
"This continuous economic dynamic confirms that the Fair is now a strategic economic event for the promotion of Algerian non-hydrocarbon exports, in line with the State's orientation towards strengthening economic integration and opening up to African markets, based on a win-win partnership approach," the ministry stated.
On this occasion, a number of Mauritanian bodies were honored "in recognition of their role in the success of this economic event and the strengthening of the economic partnership between the two sister countries."
This Fair, which features the participation of over 350 companies operating in various sectors, will conclude on Monday.
