The President of the Pan-African Parliament, Fateh Boutbig, highlighted this Tuesday Algeria's constant commitment to strengthening its presence on the African continent and defending the just causes of its peoples.

In a statement to the press following his reception by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Mr. Boutbig said that his election as head of the Pan-African Parliament is not a personal achievement, but rather an "acknowledgment of the position that Algeria occupies today at the continental and international levels, and of the pioneering role it plays in supporting the causes of the African continent and advancing African integration."

He pointed out that the support he receives from the President of the Republic reflects "Algeria's constant commitment to strengthening its presence and position on the African continent and defending its just causes."

From this perspective, he stressed that "true African integration must be based on respecting the sovereignty of states, consolidating the principles of cooperation, and achieving comprehensive and sustainable development for the benefit of African peoples, which is what the President of the Republic is dedicated to ensuring."

Mr. Boutbig added that "Algeria today, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, reaffirms its unwavering commitment to accompanying African countries and supporting all efforts of peace, development, dialogue, and integration." This stems from "its deep belief that Africa's future is built through the unity of its children and through a promising, just, and balanced partnership that preserves the dignity and interests of the peoples."

He concluded by extending, on behalf of himself and the Bureau of the Pan-African Parliament, his greetings to the President of the Republic "in gratitude for his sincere guidance and for the support that Algeria has consistently provided, in service of the goals of the Pan-African Parliament and the African Union, as well as the aspirations of the continent's peoples towards a more stable and prosperous future."
