A delegation composed of experts and engineers from the Ministry of Petroleum of the Republic of Niger paid a visit this Tuesday to the wilaya of Boumerdes. During this visit, they reviewed the technical capabilities, installations, and facilities belonging to the Sonatrach group, and examined ways to strengthen energy cooperation between the two countries.

This visit falls within the framework of the working mission being carried out by the Nigerien delegation in Algeria from May 9 to 18, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, aimed at consolidating bilateral cooperation relations and the exchange of expertise in the energy field.

The delegation began its visit by reviewing the capabilities of the Seismic Data Processing Center and the Data Management Center under the exploration division of the National Geophysics Enterprise (ENAGEO, a Sonatrach subsidiary). They then held a technical working session with the company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Tarek Issoulah, in the presence of company executives, representatives from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, and the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT).

The delegation also learned about the capabilities of the National Civil Engineering and Building Enterprise (ENGCB), before heading to the laboratory department of the Algerian Petroleum Institute. They visited the departments related to exploration and production activities and attended presentations on the means and resources of this institute, which possesses extensive experience in the fields of training and the valorization of energy capacities.
