The President of the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Fight against Corruption, Ms. Salima Mesrati, participated in the opening of the 17th session of the Implementation Review Group of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), currently held in the Austrian capital, Vienna, according to an authority statement on Tuesday.
The source explained that Ms. Mesrati, accompanied by board member Ilyas Ben Sassi and the Head of the Awareness, Training, and Cooperation Department, Djamel Ramini, attended the opening of the session which will run until May 22.
The first day of the session featured "a review of several agenda items, including the performance of the UNCAC implementation review mechanism, financial and budgetary matters, as well as the status of convention implementation, particularly regarding the exchange of information, best practices, and expertise."
In a related context, "the Implementation Review Group’s report on its 17th session was adopted, alongside various interventions by member states to enrich the agenda and raise concerns and recommendations," the same source concluded.
