The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, Mr. Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, accompanied by the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mr. Alaa-Eldin Farouk, officially opened the 24th edition of the International Exhibition for Agriculture, Livestock, and Agro-Industry "SIPSA-FILAHA" this Monday at the Palais des Expositions in Algiers.

The event features 850 national and foreign exhibitors from 40 countries, with Egypte, Niger, and Mauritanie as guests of honor. Held under the theme "Modernizing Agriculture, Strengthening Food Sovereignty, and Anticipating the Future," the exhibition showcases approximately 250 international brands and is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors, according to the organizers.

Over the course of four days, the exhibition will serve as a platform to discuss pressing agricultural issues, including livestock production and its challenges, agricultural mechanization and equipment as drivers of productivity and competitiveness, and the valorization of marine resources and sustainable agricultural technologies.

The organizers aim to promote Algeria’s agricultural potential and provide national operators with opportunities to exchange expertise with international counterparts. This initiative seeks to increase yields, promote Algerian products, reduce the import bill, and boost exports.

In parallel with the main fair, the "FILAHA-INNOV" think tank has scheduled several events, including the 5th Food Industry and Agricultural Resource Valorization Fair "Africa Food Export," and the 11th International Fair for Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture "Jazaqua."

The exhibition will also host the second edition of the "Oleomed" national competition for the best extra virgin olive oil, following the success of last year’s inaugural edition which saw the participation of 145 producers.
