A delegation of experts from the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) visited Algeria this week to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in innovation and agricultural technologies, according to a statement on Wednesday from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises.
Under this framework, the ministry received the Alliance delegation—headquartered in Rome, Italy—on Monday, in the presence of executives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting served as preparation for the consultative workshop "AgriTech 4 Algeria," aimed at startups and business incubators specializing in agricultural technology in Algeria. This event is scheduled to take place in October in Algiers, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The delegation also visited the National Higher School of Agronomy (ENSA), where meetings were held with officials from the school's business incubator, alongside several startups and innovative project promoters.
Additionally, the delegation visited the headquarters of the public accelerator "Algeria Venture" to learn about the institution's main missions and specialized acceleration programs, while discussing prospects for future cooperation and partnership in this strategic field, the statement concluded.
