Algerian pole vaulter Dhiae Eddine Boudoumi won the bronze medal in the pole vault event at the 24th African Athletics Championships on Saturday in Accra, Ghana, during the fifth day of the competition.
After narrowly missing the podium in the decathlon, Boudoumi made a strong comeback in the pole vault to secure third place. The continental title was claimed by South Africa’s Valco Van Wyck.
This bronze medal is the third for the Algerian delegation in these games, following the bronze won by Souad Azzi in the 20km walk and the gold secured by Zahra Tatar in the hammer throw.
