The Minister of Mines and Mining Industries, Mourad Hanifi, highlighted today, Saturday, Algeria's readiness to share its institutional and technical expertise with Chad in the sector, serving sustainable development in both countries.
This came during Mr. Hanifi's reception, at the ministry's headquarters, of a delegation from the Chadian Ministry of Mines, Petroleum, and Geology, in the presence of the Ambassador of Chad to Algeria, Moukhtar Wawa Dahab.
This meeting comes as a culmination of the work visit made by the Chadian delegation to Algeria, which lasted five days, in implementation of the directives of the two countries' presidents aimed at consolidating bilateral relations and intensifying joint cooperation in the mining and mining industry sector.
This visit allowed the Chadian delegation to gain field insight into the work methods and systems of the bodies and institutions affiliated with the mining sector in Algeria.
After the delegation reviewed the outcomes of this visit, Mr. Hanifi emphasized that it "represents the actual and field implementation of the partnership between the two fraternal countries," reiterating "Algeria's full readiness to share its institutional and technical expertise with brothers in Chad, embodying the commitment and will of the two countries' leaders and their shared pursuit of building a sovereign, strong, and integrated economy."
For their part, representatives of the delegation explained that this visit allowed officials and frameworks of the Chadian Ministry of Mines, Petroleum, and Geology to observe closely the "pioneering" Algerian experience in managing the mining sector, praising the "fraternal interactive atmosphere" that prevailed.
They also affirmed the delegation's determination to transfer these successful organizational models to develop the mining industry in Chad and push bilateral relations to a higher level.
During this meeting, both sides agreed to continue implementing the directives of the two countries' leaders to enhance joint economic cooperation and rapprochement and build a solid partnership, as well as to work on exchanging expertise in managing and structuring mining institutions, developing specialized skills in Chad—particularly through training programs for the benefit of Chadian engineers—and developing joint projects in underground resource exploration.
In conclusion, Mr. Hanifi emphasized the need for "full commitment to drawing up a practical roadmap that ensures the implementation of these agreements on the ground, serving the sustainable development of both countries."
In a press statement following the session, the Chadian Ambassador highlighted the importance of the visit, noting the growing momentum in the path of cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador considered this dynamism to be a "positive gain" in strengthening South-South cooperation, affirming that relations between Algeria and Chad will witness further progress in the future thanks to the political will of both countries' leaders to enhance bilateral cooperation.
