Oil prices declined yesterday, Friday, impacted by global geopolitical developments. Brent futures trimmed their earlier losses, which had exceeded 5%, to settle at $96.28 a barrel, down $4.41 or 4.38%, after crossing $100 at settlement in the previous session for the first time since last May.
The contract remains on track to achieve gains exceeding 7% this week.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell by $3.61, or 3.92%, to $88.58 a barrel, moving toward a weekly gain of 7%.
