On Friday, the Minister of Health, Mr. Mohamed Seddik Ait Messaoudene, held a bilateral meeting in the Swiss city of Geneva with the Mauritanian Minister of Health, Mr. Thiam Tidjani, dedicated to discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop the partnership in the health sector between the two countries, according to a ministry statement issued yesterday.
During this meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the World Health Assembly, the two parties reviewed the current state of cooperation between the two countries in the health sector. According to the statement, they "praised the level of distinguished fraternal relations uniting Algeria and Mauritania, as well as the positive momentum witnessed in areas of health cooperation, particularly in the field of kidney transplantation, which stands as a successful model for coordination and the exchange of medical expertise and competencies between the two countries."
The two ministers also exchanged views on the "prospects of expanding health cooperation by enhancing training and qualification programs, intensifying the exchange of expertise and experiences, and developing partnerships between hospital and healthcare institutions, in a way that contributes to elevating the level of healthcare services and improving patient care."
Both sides emphasized their "shared commitment to continuously support cooperative relations" and to work toward "implementing joint health projects and programs, in execution of the directives of both countries' leaderships, reflecting the depth of the historical ties and the relations of brotherhood and solidarity that unite the two peoples."
They also reaffirmed their commitment to "continuing consultation and coordination, and intensifying the pace of bilateral cooperation to serve mutual interests."
