The Minister of National Solidarity, Family and the Status of Women, Soraya Mouloudji, co-chaired the celebration of International Children's Day on Monday at Riadh El-Feth (Algiers), alongside the Minister of Sports, Walid Sadi.

In her speech on this occasion, Ms. Mouloudji emphasized that "Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is continuing its efforts aimed at strengthening child protection and promotion systems and mechanisms, and ensuring adequate conditions for their development, while nurturing their talents."

She indicated, in this context, that child care in Algeria "is making clear progress at all levels," thanks to the achievements made and the strengthening of systems dedicated to this segment of society in all fields, notably in terms of "quality care and education, and even recreation."

Ms. Mouloudji also reviewed the constant efforts deployed by the national solidarity sector in modernizing and digitizing social welfare programs. This includes the launch of electronic platforms and services aimed at supporting families and children, with the goal of making public services more accessible and improving the quality of social care.

Regarding the special attention given by the President of the Republic to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the Minister noted that the year 2026 was marked by the realization of "very important qualitative achievements." Notably, this includes the creation of specialized centers for the first time and the strengthening of care mechanisms for this demographic, through the development of "adapted programs that meet international standards in diagnosis, rehabilitation, and treatment."

The event, organized in coordination with the Ministries of National Solidarity and Sports, saw the participation of over 1,000 children from different wilayas across the country. They took part in various cultural, educational, and sporting activities, alongside workshops for drawing, games, and leisure.

On this occasion, spaces dedicated to the various sectors and concerned organizations were also set up to present the services, programs, and measures implemented in the field of child promotion and protection.

On the sidelines of this gathering—which took place in the presence of representatives from several ministerial departments, national bodies, security forces, and civil society actors—children who achieved remarkable performances in different fields were honored. Additionally, an exhibition dedicated to children's creations in the fields of new technologies and robotics was organized.
