The President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azouz Nasri, chaired on Tuesday a meeting of the Coordination Body expanded to include the Quaestor. The meeting was held on the eve of the plenary session dedicated to the installation of the heads of the institution's bodies and structures for the year 2026, a statement from the Council indicated.

At the start of the proceedings, the President of the Council of the Nation extended "his sincere thanks and deep gratitude" to the outgoing heads of the bodies and structures of the Council of the Nation whose mandates have come to an end. He praised "their contribution to strengthening the institution's role and consolidating the values of collective work, through the organization of parliamentary seminars, study days, hearings with members of the Government, and temporary fact-finding missions, as well as their activities in the field of parliamentary diplomacy."

Mr. Nasri invited the outgoing officials, as well as all members of the Council of the Nation, to "continue their commitment to serving the institution," stressing that the latter "remains reliant on the combined efforts of all its members."

He also urged them "to spare no effort, within the framework of their constitutional missions, to contribute to the positive dynamic the country is experiencing under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as an important national electoral milestone approaches," the statement added.

For their part, the members of the Expanded Coordination Body expressed "their sincere thanks and gratitude to the administrative services of the Council of the Nation, as well as to all those who contributed to ensuring favorable and motivating working conditions, marked by a spirit of cooperation, respect, and responsibility."

They emphasized that "this positive working environment largely contributed to the success of their missions and to carrying them out under the best conditions."

This meeting also provided an opportunity for the President of the Council of the Nation to recall that "the newly composed leadership of the Council's bodies and structures for the year 2026 will officially begin its work on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 3, following its installation." He expressed the hope that it will further contribute to the dynamic of development and excellence within the Council of the Nation, the same source concluded.
