The Ministry of Culture and Arts announced on Sunday the list of 138 association projects that have obtained approval and funding within the framework of public aid for cultural and artistic projects for the year 2026. This highlights the role of civil society as a strategic partner in cultural development, a ministry statement indicated.
The public funding operation for cultural and artistic projects for the year 2026 recorded "a qualitative enthusiasm, with the registration of 479 national and local associations, of which 423 applications met the preliminary conditions," the statement specified. It added that the processing of all applications was carried out via the services' electronic portal, aligning with a participatory approach focused on integrating civil society as a strategic partner in cultural development.
The list of beneficiary projects includes 11 projects led by national associations, 64 by wilaya associations, and 63 projects by local associations.
This funding covers various fields, namely the protection and promotion of heritage (45 projects), dramatic arts (36 projects), musical creation (15 projects), literary and intellectual production (14 projects), cinematic arts (9 projects), folklore and popular arts (9 projects), as well as artistic and plastic arts exhibitions (10 exhibitions), according to the same source.
This support testifies to "the effective commitment of the Ministry of Culture and Arts to accompany initiatives and focus on community-based cultural action in order to revitalize the Algerian artistic scene and promote the aesthetic sensibility of society," the text concluded.
