The Algerian national team arrived on Sunday in Kansas City (United States), where it will continue its preparations for its participation in the 2026 World Cup, scheduled from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) indicated on its official website on Monday.

The special Air Algérie flight chartered for this trip landed at Kansas City International Airport at around 10:45 PM local time (4:45 AM in Algeria).

Upon their arrival, "the Sahara Warriors were warmly welcomed by the Algerian Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Sabri Boukadoum, accompanied by embassy staff, who came to welcome the Algerian delegation," the same source added.

Subsequently, Vladimir Petkovic's men headed to their residence in the city of Lawrence, located in the state of Kansas, where they will set up their base camp during this phase of the competition.

Before their departure, the Sahara Warriors were received at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who made a point to encourage them and offer his support ahead of this major global event.

A few hours earlier, Aïssa Mandi's teammates completed their final training session at the National Technical Center (CTN) in Sidi Moussa, in a focused and serene atmosphere.

The entire squad took part in this last rehearsal, including Ramy Bensebaïni and Hicham Boudaoui, who have now recovered from their injuries.

Before getting down to business, Algeria will play one last warm-up match against Bolivia overnight from June 10 to 11 in Kansas City (1:00 AM, Algerian time). This match will serve as a final squad assessment for the coaching staff before the global adventure kicks off.

The Sahara Warriors will then kick off their campaign on June 17 with a high-stakes clash against the defending world champions, Argentina, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City (2:00 AM, Algerian time), competing in Group J, which also features Austria and Jordan.

Returning to the global stage after a twelve-year absence, the Algerian national team hopes to write a new chapter in its history and validate the ambitions it has displayed since the beginning of its preparations, driven by a squad determined to rise to the challenge against the best nations on the planet.
