The Spanish authorities in Ceuta have reinforced their security measures by organizing a specialized training course for police officers tasked with combating smuggling and organized crime, aiming to counter the continuous flow of drugs from Morocco, which has turned into a growing threat to regional security.

According to Spanish media sources today, Tuesday, this move comes in light of the frequent seizures of massive quantities of Moroccan hashish across various European ports and crossings. This reality once again reveals the continuous failure, and even complicity, of the Makhzen's policies in tackling drug trafficking networks that have found the Kingdom to be one of the most prominent production and launch hubs toward European markets.

On the other hand, observers believe that Spain's resort to strengthening security qualification and training programs reflects the growing level of concern over the ongoing flow of toxins from Morocco into the European continent, at a time when criticisms against the Makhzen regime are mounting due to its inability to dismantle drug trafficking networks or limit their expansion.

This Spanish security move confirms that Europe is now called upon, more than ever, to reinforce its monitoring and defense systems to face a rising threat stemming from smuggling networks operating out of Morocco, which continue to feed organized crime and threaten security and stability on the northern shore of the Mediterranean.
