The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered the return of Mr. Kamel Ratib to Bamako, as Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Mali, effective from yesterday, July 10, 2026. Ambassador Ratib had been recalled for consultations on April 07, 2025.
The decision of Mr. President of the Republic stems, according to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday, Friday, from his continuous and firm keenness to restore Algerian-Malian relations to their historical and natural path based on mutual respect, and adherence to establishing relations of fraternity and cooperation that serve the interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples, as well as all countries of the Sahelo-Saharan region.
