The new headquarters of the National Cinematography Center (CNC) was inaugurated on Saturday in Algiers by the Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, in the presence of artists and cinema professionals, the ministry said in a statement.

Located in the municipality of Hydra, the new headquarters was completed as part of "efforts to modernize public administration and improve services for cinema professionals, keeping pace with the sector's dynamic growth."

The new CNC headquarters features a single window named after the late director Lamine Merbah, in tribute to his major contribution to Algerian cinema, which brings together various services dedicated to cinematographic activities, the statement specified.

The window is responsible for receiving and processing applications for theatrical exhibition permits and cultural visas, as well as license requests related to production activities, according to the text.

On this occasion, the minister emphasized that "the development of the film industry remains a collective responsibility, requiring the concerted efforts of all stakeholders in the sector."

She announced, in this context, that a consultative meeting with professionals will be held soon to address their concerns, as part of an approach aimed at "promoting and developing the national film industry."
