President of the Republic: "The State Will Continue Its Fierce War Against Neighborhood Gangs"

The President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that the State will continue its fierce war against neighborhood gangs, with security services remaining fully mobilized with all their capabilities for this purpose.     

During his periodic interview with representatives of the national press, broadcast yesterday evening (Monday) across national television and radio channels, the President stated: "I commit to protecting all families, their sons, and their daughters, and we are in a fierce war against these individuals (neighborhood gangs)," emphasizing in this context that security services are "mobilized with all their capabilities, and we will overcome them." 

The President continued by saying: "When it comes to the security and comfort of the citizen, nothing but the law shall prevail," recalling the legal framework established in this regard. 

He noted that several laws have been revised in recent years, such as the Penal Code, warning that "anyone who dares to insult a region, people, or the country will be punished, and the judiciary will decide on these cases." 

The President also highlighted the ongoing efforts in the fight against drugs, recalling that the death penalty was introduced for the first time against dealers of these poisons, concluding by stating: "Whoever believes they are above the law must bear their responsibilities."
