Environmental directorates across the wilayas affected by the recent forest fires have carried out on-the-ground assessments of the damage suffered by vegetation cover, wildlife, and biodiversity, in coordination with forest conservancies, the Ministry of the Environment and Quality of Life said in a statement on Tuesday.
This operation is part of "drafting a meticulous scientific assessment aimed at enabling the implementation of rehabilitation programs for damaged environmental habitats and the restoration of their ecological balance, while strengthening preventive and awareness-raising measures to reduce forest fire risks and protect the national natural wealth," the statement specified.
