The Algerian Red Crescent (ARC) launched on Wednesday a large-scale solidarity operation for families affected by the forest fires that occurred in several of the country's wilayas, the organization said in a statement.

This operation, which includes "the distribution of 800 household appliances and 4,430 bedding sets (mattresses and blankets)," aims to contribute to "meeting the basic needs of the affected families to help them progressively return to normal life."

The ARC recalled in its statement that it is continuing, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, local authorities, and with the support of national economic enterprises, to implement its field interventions aimed at supporting public authorities' efforts to care for the families affected by the recent forest fires that struck several of the country's wilayas. This is in line with its noble humanitarian mission and its steadfast national commitment to serving the country and its citizens.

The ARC also assured that its field activities will continue, with permanent coordination with public authorities until all affected families are fully supported.
