The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, congratulated on Wednesday Mrs. Khalida Boufedech on her election as President of the People's National Assembly (APN), wishing her success in "carrying out her duties and leading the assembly during the upcoming phase to achieve the aspirations of the Algerian people."
In a statement, the President of the Arab Parliament highlighted that the election of Khalida Boufedech to this high office "embodies the great trust placed in her by the members of the People's National Assembly and reflects her competence, experience, and ability to lead the legislative institution and strengthen its role in serving the country and citizens, thereby supporting development and stability in Algeria."
Al-Yamahi also noted that the election of Mrs. Boufedech as the first woman to head the Algerian People's National Assembly "represents a historic milestone and a national achievement that reflects the advanced position achieved by Algerian women. It also confirms the growing role of Arab women in political and parliamentary life, and their success in qualifying for the highest leadership positions, which strengthens women's empowerment and consolidates their presence in decision-making roles across the Arab world."
