The Algerian U18 girls' national volleyball team secured qualification for the 2027 World Cup in their category by defeating Cameroon 3 sets to 0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-20) in the third-place classification match of the 2026 U18 African Championship on Wednesday in Alexandria, Egypt.

The final of the continental tournament will feature Egypt, who defeated Algeria (3-0), against Tunisia, who beat Cameroon by the same score.

The Algerian team had completed the first round of the competition, which was played in a single group, with a record of two victories against Senegal (3-1) and Morocco (3-0), and three defeats against Egypt (0-3), Tunisia (0-3), and Cameroon (1-3).

Organized from July 20 to 30 in Alexandria under the aegis of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), the U18 African Championship serves as an important step in developing the future of African volleyball and acts as a stepping stone toward the senior national teams.
