Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azzouz Nasri, received today, Thursday, the Speaker of the People's National Assembly, Mrs. Khalida Boufedech, who paid him a courtesy visit, according to a statement from the upper house of parliament.
The statement explained that this visit falls "within the framework of institutional relations bringing together the two chambers of parliament, and strengthening frameworks for coordination and consultation between them."
At the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker of the Council of the Nation renewed his congratulations to Mrs. Boufedech, "wishing her every success and guidance in performing her duties, in a manner that serves the legislative institution and reinforces the path of democratic building in Algeria."
On this occasion, the two parties reviewed "ways to consolidate coordination and integration between the Council of the Nation and the People's National Assembly, to ensure the advancement of parliamentary performance, enshrine harmonious institutional work, and support the reforms witnessing the country under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at strengthening the state of institutions and promoting democratic practice," the same source added.
The two sides also affirmed "their determination to continue joint work, to enhance the effectiveness of the legislative branch and enshrine cooperation between the two chambers of parliament in carrying out their constitutional duties, in service of the supreme national interest and the aspirations of citizens," according to the statement.
