On Tuesday, the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, presided over a prestigious ceremony at the National Army Club in Beni Messous (Algiers). The event was held to honor retirees of the People's National Army (ANP) originating from the ranks of the National Liberation Army (ALN), families of martyrs of national duty, and severely wounded and disabled veterans of the anti-terrorism struggle. The ceremony was organized to commemorate the National Day of the People's National Army, celebrated annually on August 4.
During the ceremony, the President of the Republic paid a heartfelt tribute to the ANP retirees from the ALN generation, the bereaved families of fallen heroes, and the military personnel disabled or severely injured during counter-terrorism operations, presenting them with certificates of honor and profound gratitude.
Upon his arrival at the National Army Club earlier in the day, the President was received by General of the Army Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense.
