The national airline, Air Algérie, announced on Thursday that it has taken delivery of its third Airbus A330-900 NEO aircraft as part of its fleet renewal and expansion program.

The aircraft, named "Yennayer," arrived at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers. It follows two other aircraft of the same type received recently: "Novembre 54" in November 2025 and "Gara Djebilet" in early January 2026.

Intended for long-haul flights, these aircraft allow Air Algérie to ramp up its international routes, particularly to Canada, China, and South Africa.

The A330-900 NEO can accommodate over 300 passengers across different classes and offers a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to previous models. The aircraft are also equipped with modern entertainment systems and Wi-Fi internet connectivity.

With this delivery, Air Algérie's fleet now consists of 57 aircraft, in addition to 15 aircraft belonging to its subsidiary, Domestic Airlines.

The renewal program launched in 2023 initially planned for the acquisition of eight Boeing 737 MAX-9s and ten Airbus A330-900 NEOs, before the order was subsequently confirmed at ten (10) aircraft of this type.

The program also includes the acquisition of sixteen (16) ATR 72-600 aircraft to strengthen the domestic network.

These acquisitions are part of Air Algérie's strategic plan for 2035, aimed at meeting the growing demand for national and international air transport.
