The steel group Tosyali Algérie, located in Bethioua (Wilaya OF Oran), has launched production at its new cold rolling complex. Realized as part of the fourth phase of its strategic investments, the project strengthens Algeria's position as an advanced industrial hub in the steel sector, according to the industrial group.

At the end of last week, the complex reached its first production milestones by successfully producing its first coil of PO product (pickled and oiled steel) on the PLTCM line (pickling and tandem cold rolling mill line). This intermediate product is essential for the production stages of cold-rolled steel coils (CRC), a statement from Tosyali Algérie noted.

Construction of the complex began in 2024, spanning an area of 500,000 m² with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. All production lines are expected to enter full operation by next September.

According to the same source, the project aims to produce a variety of high-value-added steel products to meet the needs of strategic sectors such as automotive, household appliances, construction, energy, and manufacturing industries. The facility offers steel coils prepared and cut to demand in a modern center.

This investment is designed to reduce imports while boosting non-hydrocarbon exports. Priority will be given to satisfying the needs of the national market, with a further objective of exporting to international markets.

Upon completion of all its planned investments, Tosyali Algérie will possess a total annual capacity of 9.5 million tons, consolidating its position as one of the most significant integrated industrial hubs globally.

This initiative reflects Tosyali Algérie’s commitment to supporting the national economy and strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial sector, the statement concluded.
