The Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, Kaoutar Krikou, along with the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the State of Qatar, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, officially opened the Qatari Bustard Breeding Center yesterday, Monday, in the wilaya of El Bayadh.
This center, inaugurated in the presence of the Wali of El Bayadh, the Director General of Forestry, and local authorities, aims to preserve the bustard, which is classified as a protected species, according to a ministry statement.
The preservation of this bird species within the center will be carried out through specialized scientific programs focused on breeding and reintroduction. This contributes to the protection of biodiversity and supports sustainable development efforts, within the framework of strengthening environmental cooperation between Algeria and Qatar, the same source indicated.
