The International Exhibition for Mines, Quarries, and Hydrocarbons "SIMICA Chad 2026" witnessed, this Wednesday, the presentation of Algeria's experience in the fields of hydrocarbons and training.
This took place during a specialized working session with the participation of the Algerian Group for Marketing and Distribution of Petroleum and Natural Gas Products "Naftal" and the Algerian Institute of Petroleum.
In N'Djamena, Chad, the CEO of Naftal, Mr. Djamel Cherdoud, and the General Director of the Algerian Institute of Petroleum, Mr. Mohamed Khoudja, presented the Algerian experience.
The "Algerian success model and the major challenges for Chad's extractive industries" were highlighted.
The presentation provided a platform for exchanging visions and expertise on ways to develop the extractive industries sector in the African continent.
During the session, participants reviewed Algeria's pioneering experience in the fields of hydrocarbons and training.
They emphasized the importance of good governance, human capacity building, knowledge localization, and technology transfer as essential factors for achieving sustainable development and creating real added value.
The two Algerian representatives, in their interventions, underscored the pivotal role played by national institutions, particularly Naftal and the Algerian Institute of Petroleum.
This includes developing the value chain in the hydrocarbons sector, enhancing training and qualification, and supporting mutually beneficial African partnerships.
This participation comes within the context of Algeria's distinguished presence at the "SIMICA Chad 2026" exhibition.
The exhibition's proceedings were inaugurated with a high-level official presence, led by the representative of the President of the Republic, the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab.
This presence reaffirmed Algeria's commitment, as guest of honor, to supporting African cooperation and promoting South-South partnership.
This is alongside sharing its expertise with sister African nations, particularly in the areas of exploration, production, transformation, and training.
This also reflects Algeria's keenness to contribute effectively to strategic discussions concerning the future of extractive industries in Africa.
As well as Algeria's support for efforts aimed at building a strong, integrated, and sustainable continental economy.
