Thirty-five artisans from various provinces of the country are participating in the National Handicraft Salon, which opened yesterday evening, Sunday, at Tajkal Square in the city center of Djanet. The opening took place under the supervision of the Wali, Mohamed Moumen, and in the presence of local authorities and representatives of various sectors, as learned this Monday from the Wilaya services.
This event, held under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, was organized by the Chamber of Traditional Industry and Crafts, in coordination with the Directorate of Tourism and Handicrafts. It falls within the framework of efforts aimed at promoting artisanal products and enhancing the standing of traditional industries in national economic development, according to the same source.
The salon runs until January 29, with the participation of artisans representing several fields and specialties in traditional industry, reflecting the diversity and richness of the Algerian artisanal heritage, as explained.
The event program also includes live workshops and artistic displays created by the exhibitors, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the masterpieces of Algerian traditional industry, as indicated.
