Minister of State and Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies Mohamed Arkab is paying a working visit to the Republic of Niger this Monday. According to a ministry statement, the visit aims to assess the latest developments in Sonatrach’s activities in the country, particularly the progress of the group's research and exploration project at the Kafra block oil field in the north.
The Minister of State, along with his accompanying delegation, is also scheduled to hold meetings with Nigerien officials to examine the progress of the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline project. The same source specified that discussions will focus on ways to strengthen coordination and consultation mechanisms between the various parties involved in this strategic project.
Mr. Arkab is accompanied on this visit by the CEO of the Sonatrach group, Noureddine Daoudi, the General Manager of the Sonatrach International holding company, Bouarara Chérif, and several ministry executives.
