Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a meeting of the High Council for Import Regulation on Monday, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
According to the same source, "this meeting was devoted to the presentation of the assessment of imports of goods and services for the year 2025, as well as the forecasts established for the year 2026." The statement specified that "the High Council for Import Regulation examined measures aimed at improving the import management framework by better addressing the expectations of economic operators, with the goal of responding more efficiently to the real needs of the national economy."
Furthermore, the Prime Minister's Office indicated that "emphasis was placed on the simplification and digitization of import procedures, as well as on the strengthening of intersectoral coordination, so as to ensure better processing and more rigorous monitoring of import operations." The statement added that "this approach aligns with the fundamental objective of the mechanism, namely the strengthening of national production and the promotion of investment."
