10,000 Bus Import Program: First Shipment Received at Port of Algiers

The Vehicle Industry Development Establishment (EDIV), operating under the Directorate of Military Manufacturing of the Ministry of National Defense, received a first shipment of 335 buses at the Port of Algiers on Sunday. This delivery is part of the implementation of the program initiated by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aiming to import 10,000 new buses to renew the national passenger transport fleet.

Overseeing the receipt of this shipment, General Mahfoud Hamel, Director General of the EDIV, stated to the press that "within the framework of the implementation of the program of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, regarding the importation of 10,000 new buses intended for the renewal of the national passenger transport fleet, and under the supervision of the Army General, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (ANP), the Directorate of Military Manufacturing, represented by the EDIV, has begun the receipt of a first shipment of 335 buses of different categories out of a total of 6,800 buses to be received from foreign partners in the People's Republic of China and the Federal Republic of Germany."

The same official emphasized that "operations to receive the remaining quantity are expected to continue over the coming days."
