The Algerian junior men's boxing team secured five medals (two gold and three bronze) during the first edition of Jordan's King's Cup, which concluded this Tuesday evening in the capital, Amman.
The two gold medals were claimed by Riyadh Belhaidouch (50 kg) and Abdelmadjid Houari (80 kg). Their teammates Abdelraouf Radwani (60 kg), Bilal Lezzoul (65 kg), and Moncef Ben Maazouz (65 kg) secured bronze medals.
Algeria participated in this competition with seven boxers. Two of them – Ismail Sahraoui (55 kg) and Mohamed Chabni (70 kg) – were eliminated in the quarter-finals and did not reach the podium.
Coaches Brahim Bournane and Abdelhalim Ouradi oversaw the Algerian team in Jordan, with Omar Kerrouti, Vice-President of the Algerian Boxing Federation, heading the delegation.
This tournament is part of the preparation program for young Algerian boxers ahead of major upcoming international events. These include the 2026 World Championships for their age category in Thailand, as well as the 2026 Youth Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Senegal.
