The Minister of Finance, Mr. Abdelkrim Bouzred, held talks with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group, Amina J. Mohammed, regarding the relations between Algeria and the UN developmental system. This meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the UN Forum on Financing for Development (April 20-24).
During the talks, both sides addressed Algeria's tireless efforts to advance sustainable development and achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda, whether at the national, regional, or international levels.
On the same occasion, the Minister highlighted the various initiatives led by the financial sector in Algeria to support the country's development efforts, as well as the joint projects between the Ministry of Finance and various UN agencies operating in Algeria.
Mr. Bouzred also emphasized Algeria's full readiness, especially in its capacity as the current Vice President and incoming President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), to work on implementing the outcomes of the Sevilla Commitment endorsed by Heads of State and Government last June.
