Office of University Publications (OPU): Launches a Collection of University Textbooks in English

The Office of University Publications (OPU) announced in a statement this Wednesday the commencement of printing a collection of university textbooks in English for the year 2026. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s strategy aimed at enhancing academic openness and supporting scientific publishing with an international dimension.

The same source explained that this project comes as an "embodiment of the Office's efforts to keep pace with the transformations in the higher education sector and to promote the use of the English language in teaching and scientific research. This aims to contribute to improving the quality of academic training, elevating national scientific production, and facilitating its integration into the international scientific landscape."

These publications include "academic books across various scientific disciplines, prepared by university professors from higher education institutions in accordance with established academic publishing standards. This ensures rigorous scientific content that meets the requirements of students, professors, and researchers."

The Office further stated that adopting English for these books "is part of an effort to enhance the reach of the OPU’s digital library, which gained international openness in late 2025. This platform now enables electronic acquisition of publications, thereby bolstering the presence of national scientific production in the international academic sphere.
