The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, confirmed Algeria's continuous desire to always be a force for stability, in light of the good relations it shares with neighboring countries, announcing on the occasion the extension of an invitation to the President of Niger to visit Algeria.
During the periodic meeting with representatives of the national media, broadcast yesterday, Saturday evening, on national television and radio channels, the President of the Republic touched upon the relations linking Algeria with many neighboring countries and other brotherly and friendly countries.
In regards to the neighbor Mauritania, the President of the Republic clarified that "our neighborhood with it is fraternal, and it is a country we try to help as much as possible." And concerning the Sahel countries, the President touched upon relations with Niger, where he said that he holds "all respect for its current president, Mr. Abdourahamane Tiani," announcing the extension of an invitation to him to visit Algeria.
In regards to Mali, the President of the Republic said that 'our history is shared,' warning, on the other hand, against those who come to this country 'for arming, enticement, and taking properties.'"
The President of the Republic also described Algeria's relations with Burkina Faso as "good," emphasizing Algeria's readiness to "push forward" these relations.
And regarding a question about the neighbor Libya, the President of the Republic emphasized that "everything that affects this country affects Algeria," stressing the necessity of "allowing the Libyans to determine the future of their country and to choose who represents them".
After recalling the role played by the tripartite neighboring countries' mechanism (Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia) and the periodic meetings of the foreign ministers of these countries regarding the situation in Libya, the President of the Republic stressed the necessity of "allowing the Libyans to determine the future of their country and to choose who represents them," highlighting the importance of legislative elections in this process as affirmed by the United Nations.
And regarding relations with the sister country, Egypt, the President said that they extend for nearly 70 years of integration, recalling the history that unites the two countries and the mutual support between them, and asserting that "everything that affects Egypt affects us, and we reject any aggression against it".
He also praised the relations between Algeria and each of Qatar, Kuwait, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying that they are "more than brotherly" and that "everything that affects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affects Algeria".
The President of the Republic surrounded Algeria's relations with the State of Qatar with the same praise, highlighting the high level they have reached.
On the other hand, the President of the Republic pointed out that there is a "microstate that tried to interfere in our elections and in other files," adding: "I hope we do not regret the day we came to know it".
