Expectations of Increased Algerian-Indian Trade Exchange

The President of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), Tayeb Chebab, predicted on Monday an increase in the level of Algerian-Indian trade exchange.

This came during a business forum organized by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in several sectors.

Tayeb Chebab noted that this meeting reflects the will of both countries to develop their commercial relations and facilitate exchanges.

He added: "It is possible to raise the level of trade exchange between Algeria and India to the level of available potential."

He relied on the attractive business climate in Algeria, simplified trade procedures, the development of the legal framework, and export support towards Africa and Arab countries.

Tayeb Chebab called on Indian investors to contribute to the efforts to diversify the national economy, especially through technology transfer and skills development.

For her part, the Director of Promotion and Support of Economic Exchanges at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Siham Nafa, pointed to the "strength of bilateral relations."

Siham Nafa stressed the importance of the meeting in allowing operators from both countries to identify win-win partnerships.

She added that Algeria's strategic location, the quality of its infrastructure, and its legal framework all constitute favorable factors for creating added value.

Siham Nafa also advocated for developing mutually beneficial cooperation.

From her side, the Ambassador of India to Algeria, Swati Vijay Kulkarni, confirmed that this is the second Indian business mission in a month.

She pointed to the diversity of sectors represented, particularly automotive, textiles, food industries, chemicals, and engineering, and the importance of bilateral business meetings to promote partnerships.

Interest in Strengthening Indian Presence in Algeria

Indian enterprises expressed their interest in investing in Algeria.

The forum witnessed discussions between Algerian economic operators and their counterparts from India.

The Indian side highlighted its increasing interest in Algeria as a "strategic gateway" to access European and African markets.

Indian operators noted their keen interest in strengthening and developing their investments in Algeria across several vital sectors.

They linked this trend to exploiting the vitality witnessed in bilateral relations and the promising economic climate.

Discussions centered on the possibilities and opportunities for investment in several high-potential fields.

Focus was placed on the pharmaceutical industry, which is considered a strategic sector, as well as mechanical industries, agriculture, technology, and industrial equipment.

Operators from both countries touched upon establishing joint projects, developing mixed companies, and enhancing productive investments.
